Bonchon is Not a French Word

I had been to Bonchon in Maryland a few years ago, but for some reason I never spoke about it here. Must have been during my 2 year sabbatical. Anyhoo, Bonchon opened a location in my neck of the woods so I had to visit. Their fried chicken is BANGING. So you should try it if you never have, but also they have Bulgogi Fries. 

Bulgogi AKA "Fire Meat" in Korean is thin, tender slices of meat cooked with a sweet and savory marinade. In this case the meat is thrown on top of fries with cheese and green stuff.

NICE. $13.99 is steep but it's probably enough for 3 normal sized people.

Also they have really weird appetizers like this Sotteok thing which is little sausages and rice "plugs" on a stick for $2.99.

DO IT. 

MOJO's Revisted

 It's been about 10 years since I talked about Mojo's. The original location (which was like 500 yards from my house) closed but they had opened a second location at the time that is still in business. The second location is like 3 miles from me so I hardly ever go on accounta that's like 30 Fayetteville miles.

Anyhoo I got to hankerin for their wings cause they were super good back in the day and decided to see if they are keeping up their fry game.

Our first thought when we walked in was how clean the joint was. You know how sometimes bar/restaurants have that deep fryer smell and/or the nasty table cleaning liquid smell? There was none of that. And the tables and chairs seemed brand new. Nice.

Basket O' Fries? They must be Irish. $7.50 is kinda steep but inflation blah blah blah. Thanks Obama!

Not bad. Totally different kind of fries than the original location. 

Lightly battered with a weird flat rectangular shape.

Really good.

Excellent lacing on the beer glass (which means the glass is really clean).

And the wings are still rockin.
