Cafe Rue Orleans

Cafe Rue Orleans makes some awesome stuff.  Specifically, their red beans and rice and eggplant Napoleon are legendary around these parts.  You pay through the nose for it, but it's good.  When we stopped by the other night I was surprised I hadn't reviewed the fries yet.  BTW, I forgot to take a picture of the outside so I stole this pic from a tripadvisor review.

Let's take a quick look at the menu.  Fries are "sides" here.  Okay...settle down Gibby...they know not what they do.  Hmmm.  There's a lunch menu and a dinner menu.  Lunch fries $1.95.

But what's this?  The price for fries nearly DOUBLES after the sun goes down?  Is this some kind of vampire trick?  Do they somehow get twice as good in the dark?  These suckers better be AMAZING for $3.25!

Okay.  Pretty good.  Hot, crispy, just the right amount of cajun seasoning.

And a decent amount.  Would be awesome for $1.95, but for $3.25 this amount is lacking.

Good fries, good amount, bad vampire trickery on the pricing.  7 out of 10.
